Join us for St. Patrick's Day Tea at Chestnut Center for the Arts in the beautiful Dr. Jane McLamarrah & Michael Kohl Fireplace Room.

Sip tea, and enjoy the gentle clinking sounds of delicate teacups while you relish small bites and good conversation as you relax in the warm colorful light from the stained glass windows that surround the enchanting space.

We aim to make this a fun and memorable experience that will bring folks together and create lasting memories.

Celebrate National Poetry Month with James Hamilton, a five time published author and spoken word performer, as he facilitates a 2-hour workshop for local poets wanting to express themselves through writing and sharing their own poetry. Maximum of 12 participants. Refreshments will be served.

Following the workshop, Chestnut Center for the Arts invites the public to Open Mic to hear the participants perform their work live. The afternoon will then conclude with James Hamilton's spoken word performance.

What to expect at the workshop:

Anyone who wants to explore poetry is welcome to attend. A key focus of the workshop will be to help people find “truth.” Truth in their own writings, performance skills and/or inner self. Attendees are encouraged to bring pieces of published or original works to share. All lovers of poetry are welcome to attend with either a handful of sonnets or a head filled with ideas. Creative minds will be at work.
